VMware 10 – No Patches Needed.. — 1 Comment

  1. Nice that VM10 is out without the need of patches. But when it comes to productivity, VM10 is ugly. I’m not able to install any VM with a Linux system. ISO’s right start (for instance Ubuntu 12.04.2 or 3 -> x86 o rx64) and run through the installation process without the chance to select any settings or interrupt the installation process. Spend 1 day yesterday to figure out what is the problem. I came to the point it is VM10 alone. I tested it on lower kernel numbers and 3.10 and 3.11. I came to the point that it seems like a bug in January this yr with misshandling of keymaps in VM is back and so on. Still figurein out which bug number it was.

Had no problems to install different distros (desktop & server) with VirtualBox 4.2.18 r88780. With VM10 everything messed up. I had no problems with Win installations so far.
