Kernel – 6.16 Released, No Surprises..

Kernel 6.16 is out, and brief details are here:   https://lkml.iu.edu/hypermail/linux/kernel/2507.3/03799.html As expected, the latest NVIDIA driver 575.64.05 compiles/installs OK, but VMware 17.6.4 still needs the 6.15 plus 6.16 patches, the same as 17.6.3.. VMware Workstation Pro 17.6.4 has been released, and details are here:   https://techdocs.broadcom.com/us/en/vmware-cis/desktop-hypervisors/workstation-pro/17-0/release-notes/vmware-workstation-1764-pro-release-notes.html     As mentioned in the Release Notes, there are some features removed in this version.. NVIDIA – Now Watch Out for NovaCore..

I had a (rare) need to test the latest NVIDIA driver 575.64.03 with the Fedora 42 kernel (6.15.4-200.fc42.x86_64) and found that I was getting unexpected SSL errors, and ‘device not found’ when trying to load the modules..
