This version now compiles and runs OK with the latest kernel – 6.18.0 from kernel.org – without any patches, but some reports have been seen mentioning trouble compiling with 6.17.x kernels..    I tested this on two different systems running 6.18.0, with no issues..    If you need DKMS support, then there are patches available here:  https://github.com/philipl/vmware-host-modules/tree/workstation-25h2

Among the changes is one for Windows pre-Vista guests (I run XP/SP2  for a Minolta slide scanner) and the VMware Tools for these are no longer included by default, but can be downloaded as a separate winPreVista.iso image file, with the link given during the ‘Reinstall VMware Tools’ dialogue..
