NVIDIA – Patch for Kernel 6.17 Support…
Thanks to Oscar (for identifying the code change) and Willy Frissen (for producing the patch) there is now a fix for NVIDIA driver 580.65.06 and Kernel 6.17 (tested with 6.17-rc1), and this can be found at https://github.com/babiulep/my-kernel-patches/blob/main/NVIDIA/nvidia-6.17-580.65.06.patch ..
I have applied this, and tested with Kernel 6.17-rc1 (from kernel.org) and Fedora 42 KDE/Plasma and VMware (win10 client) on an HP Envy 17 (GeForce RTX 3050), and everything is working as it should..

My current system is fedora rawhid (which went from 43 to 44 the other day). The driver patch allows the kernel modules to compile fine, but rebooting from a system loaded with kernel 6.17rc1 always results in a system hang.
And under kernel-6.17rc1, my audio device is completely gone
The strange thing is that this phenomenon only occurs in Fedora, while Kubuntu loaded with kernel-6.17rc1 is normal.
