Kernel – 6.11 Pre-Testing.. OK so far with Latest NVIDIA and VMware (patched)
Tested the latest (July 21st) git version of pre-release Kernel 6.11, and this was OK with NVIDIA 555.58 and (patched) VMware 17.5.2.. (from https://github.com/nan0desu/vmware-host-modules/tree/tmp/workstation-17.5.2-k6.9-sharishth )
Obviously, there will be more potential for ‘breakages’ before -rc1 is released in a weeks time..

which patch are you applying to nvidia drivers?
I’m on NVIDIA-SMI 560.31.02 (suing package NVIDIA provides on his website) since it provides better support for wayland
plus wayland, mutter, gnome-shell built from source
I use tkg kernel
Black screen for me from GRUB on.
6.11-rc6 w/ Nvidia 550.107.02 / Mint 21.3
Clean build but kernel load results in black screen that never restores. verbose nosplash; verbose; quiet; splash quiet; makes no difference… once grub[2] loads the kernel it’s just a dark screen, and I don’t mean “very dark grey”. I mean “Nvidia driver loaded fully black screen.”
