VMware – Workstation 16.0.0 Released – OK with Kernel 5.8, and 5.9-rc..
VMware have now released Workstation Pro 16.0.0, and details are here: https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-Workstation-Pro/16/rn/VMware-Workstation-16-Pro-Release-Notes.html
This version now works correctly – and compiles, with multiple warnings – on Kernel 5.8 (tested with 5.8.9) and also on Kernel 5.9-rc5.
To fix the messy compile – and thanks again to Michal Kubeček – there is a patchset for vmmon/vmware available, here: https://github.com/mkubecek/vmware-host-modules/tree/workstation-16.0.0

thanks for the info.. just upgrade to kernel 5.8.9-200.fc32 and installing VMWare WorkStation Pro 16.
Just snap a finger and everything is fine.
Nvidia Primus also works.
Thanks for the latest news..
I’ve downloaded kernel 5.8.9 Fedora Workstation 32 and installed VMWare 16.
Snap my finger and both running fine.
Nvidia also running good.
Hmm. I try this on debian testing, kernel 5.8 and get
“GLib does not have GSettings support”
when trying to install the modules…
