ARM64 – Multiple Meson MMC Mystery..
I was going to update the Odroid C2 to the latest patched kernel, but then found that the meson-mmc driver had mysteriously vanished from the source tree.. This – of course – makes the kernel pretty useless… I did some research, but could not find any specific mention of the removal of this code, but then found that a ‘new’ version of the driver had been written, and is currently making it way through the normal review process.. No mention of why this ‘new’ version was necessary, but I did notice the the ‘old’ driver (which worked fine on my system – with eMMC) was just GPLv2 licensed, but the ‘new’ one is joint GPLv2/BSD licensed, which might explain the complete re-write?
Hopefully the new driver will make its way into the patched kernel soon… And – hopefully – Ethernet will finally work properly, and maybe even USB!
