Kernel 5.16 has – finally – been released, after deliberate delay (with an -rc8) due to the ‘holiday season’.. More problems with severe disk performance degradation, but SMART still shows the disc as ‘OK’.. Just compiled/installed the November 10 git version of 5.16-pre, and the latest NVIDIA driver 495.44 compiles/loads OK.
