There is now an interim patch available, for NVIDIA 440.82 and Kernel 5.8, at https://gitlab.com/snippets/1986228 This should be applied as well as the 5.7 patch, and I have tested this with pre-release Kernel 5.8-git version from June 12th, and it works OK.
