Kernel – Interim Changes for 4.17 – OK So Far..

Testing the changes submitted to date for Kernel 4.17-rc1, which is – of course – not due out just yet..   Kernel version obtained from https://github.com/torvalds/linux today – April 8. Latest VMware – 14.1.1 – vmnet/vmmon compile OK, and so does the latest NVIDIA – 390.48, with the 4.16 patch.. More changes to come, but all is good … Continue reading →

ARM – Raspberry Pi and Pi2 – Trials with Later Kernels..

I had Kernel 3.19.0 (originally from https://github.com/raspberrypi/linux/tree/rpi-3.19.y – now updated) running on my Pi (armv6) and Pi2 (armv7) with no problems (apart from the Pi2 seeming very sluggish..) but after that had a few ‘issues’.. GIT – ‘Missing Files’ Solved..

Thanks to information received from Mace Moneta, I can confirm that the ‘missing files’ problem I experienced with Raspberry Pi GIT downloads was due to the fact that I was using the ‘Download ZIP‘ option, which – it seems – is defective! Self-Compiled XMBC, on the Pi..
