Just completed some basic tests with the new VMware Workstation 9.0 on my ‘test’ system (x86_64, Fedora 17)… Initial results.. Compiles and runs OK on kernel 3.4.9. Kernel version 3.5 has not been out for very long, but now there is 3.6-rc1 already – available from http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/torvalds/linux.git;a=summary Compiling now, and will be interesting to see if anything breaks! Just updated my x86_64 Fedora 17 system to kernel 3.5 – just released – and so far, all is working OK. Linux kernel version 3.4.1 was not out yet, but there is a 3.5-rc1 already.. Kernel 3.4rc1 is out, and appears to be the new ‘mainline’ version, according to the website at www.kernel.org.. 3.3 is not even mentioned, any more..! I just updated two of my systems (x86_64) to 3.4rc1, and everything seemed to be working just fine (see Update below..)..
