Just updated the raspberry Pi to kernel 3.8.2, by applying the incremental patch at:
\nftp:\/\/ftp.kernel.org\/pub\/linux\/kernel\/v3.0\/incr\/patch-3.8.1-2.bz2<\/a>
\n– which worked fine..<\/p>\n

I tried applying the kernel.org 3.9-rc1 patch to the (hacked) 3.8.0 Pi base, and the patch applied cleanly, but the compile failed..\u00a0\u00a0 So — more hacking is obviously required!\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 As this will (effectively) be a hack on a hack on an old fork, it would be nice to see an ‘official’ branch of the Pi kernel code on GitHub, soon!<\/p>\n
