SmartDeblur<\/strong><\/em> has received some exposure in the mainstream press recently, and as I do a lot<\/span> of digital restoration of old slides and negatives, I wanted to get it to run on Linux, as well.\u00a0\u00a0 Should be no problem, as the app is written in QT4..<\/p>\n

So..\u00a0 Download the source from GitHub:
\nhttps:\/\/github.com\/Y-Vladimir\/SmartDeblur\/downloads<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

Then unpack the tarfile, go to the ..\/src directory, and run # qtmake-qt4<\/em><\/strong> (or the equivalent on your flavour of Linux..).\u00a0\u00a0 then just run # make<\/em><\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0 The compilation will show if you have anything missing…\u00a0\u00a0 You will need the FFTW<\/strong> (F<\/strong>ast F<\/strong>ourier T<\/strong>ransform..) development package, amongst others..<\/p>\n

If all goes well, you should end up with a SmartDeblur<\/em><\/strong> executable in the src directory, and then just copy this to your \/usr\/bin (or equivalent)..<\/p>\n

The results are impressive, but – so far – more useful for ‘forensic’ use, rather than ‘enhancement’…\u00a0\u00a0 Still, I need to do more testing, with more combinations of parameters…<\/p>\n
