{"id":516,"date":"2012-10-18T14:51:41","date_gmt":"2012-10-18T13:51:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/rglinuxtech.com\/?p=516"},"modified":"2012-10-18T14:51:41","modified_gmt":"2012-10-18T13:51:41","slug":"taking-a-swype","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/rglinuxtech.com\/?p=516","title":{"rendered":"Taking a Swype.."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I had been happy to use <strong>Swype<\/strong> on my old Samsung Galaxy &#8216;droid phone, but it was &#8211; sadly &#8211; not available on my new HTC One V..<\/p>\n<p>Now, that has changed.. \u00a0\u00a0 Swype (Beta) is now out, and I have installed it, and it works just fine..<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"http:\/\/beta.swype.com\/\" href=\"http:\/\/beta.swype.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">http:\/\/beta.swype.com\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>I have found that Swype is a bit like Marmite &#8211; you either like it or hate it..\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 I quickly grew to like it, once I got used to the &#8216;Ouija Board&#8217; method of input..\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Once you get the hang of it, it is surprisingly fast!<\/p>\n<p>The activation on the phone is slightly convoluted&#8230;\u00a0\u00a0 You have to first <strong><em>enable<\/em><\/strong> it under &#8220;Language &amp; keyboard&#8221;, and then &#8211; also &#8211; enable it via (any) text entry screen, by pulling down the top tab, and then <strong><em>selecting<\/em><\/strong> it as the preferred &#8216;Input Method&#8217;..<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I had been happy to use Swype on my old Samsung Galaxy &#8216;droid phone, but it was &#8211; sadly &#8211; not available on my new HTC One V..
