Now that Fedora 13 and the APC kernel provide basic functionality, a brief<\/strong> summary of where you can get the ‘bits’…<\/p>\n

Assumptions<\/strong>:\u00a0\u00a0 You will need to be reasonably adept at the following:<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0 Cross-compiling and patching a Linux \/ ARM kernel, from source obtained from GitHub.<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0 Formatting and partitioning an SD-card (FAT and EXT3..)<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0 Installing a Root Filesystem onto the SD-card..<\/p>\n

4.\u00a0 Configuring Fedora and YUM to use a specific repository..<\/p>\n

If you look back through this blog, I have documented how I did most of these tasks, which are common to the installation of many different Linux\/ARM systems..<\/p>\n

Bear in mind that these components are all out-of-date<\/strong>, but have<\/span> to be used, as the only available Linux kernel for the APC is based on the equivalent Android 2.3 release, which is built on kernel 2.6.32.9.\u00a0\u00a0 Newer versions of Fedora\/ARM will not work with this ‘old’ kernel..\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 Fortunately, the old Fedora 13 ARM repository is still available, but this may not be the case for ever, as it was only a short-term development project, which was already out-of-date by the time it was released, and the main Fedora\/ARM development focus is now – correctly – on Fedora 17 and later.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
