Kernel 5.17-rc1<\/strong> is due out soon, and so I tested the latest (Jan 16th) Github version, to see if there were any surprises..<\/p>\n

There is already a ‘testing’ patch available for VMware 16.2.1 and Kernel 5.17,\u00a0 at https:\/\/github.com\/mkubecek\/vmware-host-modules\/tree\/tmp\/workstation-16.2.1-k5.17<\/a> .
\nThis also compiled and loaded\/ran OK.. \u00a0 and will (eventually) become part of the ‘standard’ 16.2.1 patchset..<\/p>\n

Of course, there is still plenty of time for more 5.17 changes to break stuff, so YMMV…<\/p>\n
