become Workstation 16:\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.vmware.com\/workstation\/2020\/05\/directx-11-now-with-workstation-tp20h2.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/blogs.vmware.com\/workstation\/2020\/05\/directx-11-now-with-workstation-tp20h2.html<\/a><\/p>\n<p>If you want to test this, you will need to <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">uninstall<\/span> any previous version of VMware (or the installer segfaults..) and &#8211; thanks to <span class=\"p-name vcard-fullname d-block overflow-hidden\">Michal Kube\u010dek &#8211; <\/span>there is already a vmmon\/vmnet patch available, at <a href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/mkubecek\/vmware-host-modules\/tree\/tmp\/workstation-16\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/github.com\/mkubecek\/vmware-host-modules\/tree\/tmp\/workstation-16<\/a><\/p>\n<p>I have tested this &#8211; briefly &#8211; with Kernel <strong>5.7-rc7<\/strong>, and it seems to run as expected, but bear in mind, this is still only demo\/dev quality!<\/p>\n<p>There is some mention in the Release Notes for an earlier version &#8211; 20H1 &#8211; that this may only support &#8216;Intel Haswell or newer&#8217; CPUs, but there is also correspondence that suggests support for older Sandy Bridge\/Ivy Bridge could be provided, if enough people request it, so if you have one of these, then I would recommend logging on to the forum, and making that request!\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/communities.vmware.com\/community\/vmtn\/beta\/workstation-pro\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">https:\/\/communities.vmware.com\/community\/vmtn\/beta\/workstation-pro<\/a>\u00a0 I installed the latest version &#8211;
