errors, and I have been unable to find a workaround, despite changing compiler parameters etc,..<\/p>\n<p>I did (eventually) get the <strong>Midori<\/strong> browser to compile, but this would only display sites if java\/javascript was <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">disabled<\/span>..<\/p>\n<p>The Gentoo java is no longer available, but I was able to get a reasonably recent IA64 version from the Sun\/Oracle site..<br \/>\n<code><span style=\"font-family: courier\\ new, courier;\"><strong>root@rgia64 ~ # java -version<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: courier\\ new, courier;\"><strong>java version \"1.6.0_45\"<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: courier\\ new, courier;\"><strong>Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_45-b0602)<\/strong><\/span><br \/>\n<span style=\"font-family: courier\\ new, courier;\"><strong>Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 17.0-b17, mixed mode)<\/strong><\/span><\/code><\/p>\n<p>At least the actual Kernel still compiles OK, but I found that the Gentoo instructions for EFI were a bit odd, and so kept the Fedora setup..\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 After <code><span style=\"font-family: courier\\ new, courier;\"><strong># make install<\/strong><\/span><\/code>, I have to copy the kernel<strong> vmlinuz&#8230;<\/strong>\u00a0 image to <code><strong><span style=\"font-family: courier\\ new, courier;\">\/boot\/EFI\/EFI\/redhat<\/span><\/strong><\/code>,and create the <strong>initrd<\/strong> there manually, but this works OK..<\/p>\n<p><em>Robert Gadsdon.\u00a0\u00a0 January 22, 2018<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>After a lot of patience(!)
