Tested the Intel e1000e<\/strong> driver in Kernel 5.4.1<\/strong>, and this still fails with some Ethernet NICs, but is OK on others..<\/p>\n

On my HP Z820, there are two (different) Intel NICs, and the e1000e driver works with one, but fails with the other:<\/p>\n

LAN connection to eth0<\/span><\/strong> (Intel 82579LM<\/strong>) fails:

But eth1<\/strong><\/span> (Intel 82574L<\/strong>), works correctly:
\nand ethtool<\/strong> reports:
\nSpeed: 1000Mb\/s<\/span><\/strong>
\nDuplex: Full<\/span><\/strong>
\nLink detected: yes<\/span><\/strong><\/code><\/p>\n

Reverting the e1000e patch mentioned here ( http:\/\/rglinuxtech.com\/?p=2632<\/a> ) fixes the link problem on the failing NIC, as before.<\/p>\n
